Telehealth Consent

Brave Labs, LLC and its affiliates (“BraveRX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provide access to licensed healthcare providers through telehealth services. Telehealth involves the delivery of healthcare services using secure electronic communications, including online questionnaires, messaging, audio, and video consultations, rather than in-person visits.

This consent also explains the medications your provider may prescribe for men’s libido and erectile function, including their potential benefits, risks, and alternatives.

By using BraveRX’s telehealth services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Nature of Telehealth Services

Telehealth services may include medical history review, evaluation of symptoms, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, prescriptions when medically appropriate, follow-up care, and health education. Services are provided by licensed healthcare providers using secure digital technology.

2. Benefits of Telehealth

Telehealth services may offer the following benefits:

  • Convenient access to healthcare without the need for travel
  • Faster access to licensed providers
  • Ability to receive care from a private location
  • Efficient follow-up and ongoing care when appropriate

3. Risks and Limitations of Telehealth

You understand and acknowledge that:

  • Telehealth may be limited by technical issues such as internet connectivity, device performance, or system interruptions
  • Some conditions may not be appropriate for telehealth and may require in-person evaluation, physical examination, or diagnostic testing
  • Medical decisions are based on the information you provide, and incomplete or inaccurate information may affect care outcomes
  • While safeguards are in place, electronic communications carry a risk of unauthorized access or data breaches

4. Privacy and Security

BraveRX uses secure technology designed to protect your personal and health information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA where required. By using telehealth services, you consent to the electronic transmission of your health information for purposes of treatment, payment, and healthcare operations, as described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Provider Judgment and Follow-Up Care

Healthcare providers will determine whether telehealth is appropriate for your condition. A provider may:

  • Decline to provide care via telehealth
  • Recommend an in-person visit or referral to another healthcare provider
  • Request additional information before making a clinical decision

You agree to provide complete, accurate, and truthful medical information.

6. Medications for Libido and Erectile Function

For men’s libido and erectile function, your provider may prescribe compounded PT-141 (bremelanotide), oxytocin, and apomorphine, as well as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i). These may be prescribed alone, in combination with each other, or alongside a PDE5i.

Some of these compounded products are not FDA-approved for use in men and are prescribed off-label. Limited data exist regarding the safety and effectiveness of PT-141, oxytocin, and apomorphine in men, and standardized dosing guidelines have not been established.

PT-141 (Bremelanotide)

  • Stimulates melanocortin receptors in the brain, which may improve erectile function
  • May enhance reliability of erections and sexual satisfaction

Oxytocin

  • Often called the “bonding hormone,” it may promote intimacy, trust, and sexual desire
  • May enhance emotional closeness and overall sexual experience

Apomorphine

  • A dopamine agonist that may improve erectile response by acting on central nervous system pathways
  • May be beneficial in men who do not respond adequately to PDE5 inhibitors

PDE5 Inhibitors (Sildenafil, Tadalafil, Vardenafil, Avanafil)

  • Improve erectile function by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation
  • May enhance ability to achieve and maintain erections, sexual performance, and overall satisfaction

Together, these treatments may address decreased libido, support erectile function, and improve sexual health and well-being.

7. Medication Risks and Side Effects

PT-141

  • Nausea or upset stomach
  • Headache
  • Flushing or redness
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Injection-site reactions (if injectable)
  • Possible skin hyperpigmentation

Oxytocin

  • Mild headache
  • Nausea
  • Temporary changes in blood pressure
  • Mood or emotional fluctuations

Apomorphine

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Low blood pressure, fainting, or dizziness
  • Sleepiness or yawning
  • Rarely, changes in heart rhythm

PDE5 Inhibitors

  • Headache, flushing, or indigestion
  • Nasal congestion
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Blurred vision or color changes (blue/green perception)
  • Back pain or muscle aches (more common with tadalafil)
  • Rare: hearing loss, ringing in the ears, priapism (an erection lasting more than 4 hours), or allergic reactions

Rare but Serious Risks (All Medications)

  • Significant or sustained blood pressure changes, which may increase the risk of stroke or heart attack
  • Severe allergic reactions (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
  • Noticeable changes in mood or behavior

Do Not Use PDE5 Inhibitors If:

  • You take nitrates for chest pain (angina)
  • You use recreational “poppers” (amyl nitrate or nitrite)
  • You have severe heart or liver problems, very low blood pressure, or a recent stroke or heart attack

8. Emergency Situations

Telehealth services are not intended for medical emergencies. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

While taking any of the medications described above, seek emergency care immediately if you experience chest pain, trouble breathing, extreme dizziness, a prolonged erection, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.

9. Alternative Treatments

Alternatives to these medications include:

  • Lifestyle modifications: Exercise, weight loss, improved sleep, stress reduction, and limiting alcohol or smoking
  • Therapies: Sex therapy, counseling, or relationship therapy
  • Other medical options: Hormone therapy, vacuum erection devices, penile injections, suppositories, or surgical implants

10. Your Rights and Responsibilities

By using BraveRX telehealth services, you acknowledge that:

  • Participation in telehealth is voluntary
  • You may withdraw consent, stop treatment, or stop using telehealth services at any time
  • You have the right to request access to your medical records as permitted by law
  • Telehealth services do not guarantee any specific medical outcome

If you are prescribed medication, you are responsible for:

  • Using medications exactly as prescribed
  • Not combining them with contraindicated medications, especially nitrates or “poppers”
  • Reporting all other medications, supplements, or health changes to your provider
  • Attending all scheduled follow-up appointments and completing any recommended labs or blood pressure checks
  • Immediately reporting any new, worsening, or concerning side effects, especially cardiovascular, mood, or visual changes

11. Acknowledgment and Consent

By clicking “I Agree,” creating an account, completing a medical intake, or otherwise using BraveRX’s telehealth services, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understand this Telehealth Consent
  • You consent to receive healthcare services via telehealth
  • You understand the risks, benefits, and limitations of telehealth
  • You are aware of the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives of any medication prescribed to you
  • You understand that use of PT-141, oxytocin, and apomorphine is off-label and not FDA-approved for men
  • You agree to follow your provider’s instructions and the responsibilities described in Section 10
  • You understand that telehealth services may be discontinued by you or your provider at any time
